The Punjab Education Minister stated, “By renaming government schools after our freedom fighters and martyrs, we are ensuring that their sacrifice and contribution become an integral part of a student’s everyday learning experience.” The Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said he has directed the School Education Department authorities to display the life stories and contributions of these personalities along with their pictures in schools so as to impart value-based education and help build character among students. “Schools must actively showcase the lives and ideals of these heroes to inspire students and shape their character through real examples of selfless service,” he said. Sharing details of the renamed institutions, Harjot Singh Bains said, “Government High School, Sandhu Kalan in Barnala has been renamed as Shaheed Sepoy Jagdev Singh Government High School, Government Senior Secondary School, Ghugiana in Faridkot has been renamed as Shaheed Naik Surjeet Singh Government Senior Secondary School, Government High School, Fatehpur in Mansa has been renamed as Freedom Fighter Maghar Singh Government High School, and Government Senior Secondary School, Dalel Singh Wala has been renamed after Comrade Dharam Singh Fakkar.” He further said, “PM SHRI Government Senior Secondary School (Boys), Bhikhi in Mansa has been renamed as Shaheed Constable Jaswant Singh PM SHRI Government Senior Secondary School, Government Senior Secondary School, Bakshiwala has been renamed as Freedom Fighter Arjan Singh Government Senior Secondary School, Government Middle School, Lubanianwali in Sri Muktsar Sahib has been renamed as Freedom Fighter Sarwan Singh Government Middle School, Government High School, Hamirgarh in Sangrur has been renamed as Freedom Fighter Giani Mukand Singh Government High School, Government Middle School, Duladi in Patiala has been renamed as Shaheed Sepoy Pyara Singh Government Middle School and Government High School, Rajpura Town has been renamed as Freedom Fighter Amir Singh Government High School.”

Mansurwal Dona, Punjab:कपूरथला में 99वें बसंत मेले की धूम, ऐतिहासिक परंपरा को मिला नया विस्तार कपूरथला。 कपूरथला में बसंत को एक बड़े और ऐतिहासिक त्योहार के रूप में मनाने की परंपरा आज़ादी से पहले से चली आ रही है। तत्कालीन कपूरथला रियासत की ओर से बसंत मेले का आयोजन किया जाता था, जिसकी रिवायत आज़ादी के बाद भी बरकरार रही। हालांकि अलग-अलग सरकारों के दौरान यह परंपरा कभी निरंतर रही तो कभी बाधित भी हुई। इसी ऐतिहासिक कड़ी को आगे बढ़ाते हुए कपूरथला में 99वें बसंत मेले का भव्य आयोजन किया गया। यह आयोजन कांग्रेस विधायक राणा गुरजीत सिंह की अगुवाई में निरंतर रूप से किया गया, जिससे शहर की सांस्कृतिक विरासत को नया जीवन मिला। रंजीत बावा ने बढ़ाई 99वें मेले की रौनक 99वें बसंत मेले के अवसर पर पंजाबी कलाकारों ने अपने-अपने अंदाज़ में दर्शकों का मनोरंजन किया। इस दौरान प्रसिद्ध पंजाबी गायक रंजीत बावा की विशेष मौजूदगी ने मेले की रौनक को चार चांद लगा दिए और बड़ी संख्या में मौजूद लोगों ने तालियों के साथ उनका स्वागत किया। पीली दस्तार बनी बसंत की पहचान मेले में नगर निगम कपूरथला के सभी काउंसलर, गणमान्य लोग और सामाजिक प्रतिनिधि पीली दस्तार सजाए नजर आए, जो कि बसंत पर्व और बसंत मेले का प्रमुख प्रतीक मानी जाती है। आम लोगों ने भी भारी संख्या में 99वें बसंत मेले में शिरकत कर उत्सव को यादगार बना दिया। मेलों की परंपरा जारी रखने का संकल्प : राणा गुरजीत सिंह इस मौके पर विधायक राणा गुरजीत सिंह ने कहा कि मेलों का आयोजन समाज को जोड़ने और सांस्कृतिक विरासत को संजोने का माध्यम होता है। उन्होंने कहा कि कुछ सरकारों की नाकामी के कारण यह परंपरा लगातार नहीं चल सकी, लेकिन अब कपूरथला कांग्रेस और कांग्रेस शासित नगर निगम ने इसे फिर से मजबूती से आगे बढ़ाया है। उन्होंने स्पष्ट किया कि मियांवाला मेला सफलताप्रवक हो चुका है और यदि अगले साल इन तारीखों में चुनाव नहीं हुए तो सुमवा मेला भी निश्चित रूप से आयोजित किया जाएगा। विपक्ष की आलोचना पर दिया स्पष्ट जवाब मेले के दौरान विपक्ष द्वारा लगाए जा रहे राजनीतिक आरोपों पर प्रतिक्रिया देते हुए राणा गुरजीत सिंह ने कहा कि वे ऐसी बातों की परवाह नहीं करते और एक मस्त साथी की तरह विकास और सांस्कृतिक आयोजनों को आगे बढ़ाते रहेंगे।

Noida, Uttar Pradesh:Punjab rolls out state-wide “Sade Buzurg Sada Maan” campaign; health camps across all districts till February 18: Dr. Baljit Kaur Free geriatric check-ups, cataract surgeries and assistive devices for seniors; ₹7.86 crore earmarked Mann Government committed to health, dignity and security of senior citizens: Dr Baljit Kaur Chandigarh, January 29: The Punjab Government has released the complete state-level schedule of its flagship senior citizens’ welfare campaign “Sade Buzurg Sada Maan”, under which special health check-up camps will be organised in all districts of the state till February 18, 2026. The campaign was formally launched on January 16 at Mohali and aims to ensure accessible healthcare, social security and dignity for the elderly. This was stated by Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr Baljit Kaur, who added that under the State Action Plan for Senior Citizens, an amount of ₹7.86 crore will be spent during the financial year 2025–26 to provide comprehensive health services, awareness and essential facilities to senior citizens across Punjab. Sharing further details, Dr. Baljit Kaur said that the campaign reflects the people-centric and sensitive approach of the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, which is committed to providing a safe, healthy and dignified life to senior citizens. The Minister informed that health camps will be organised district-wise as per schedule, beginning with Sri Muktsar Sahib and Fazilka on February 2, followed by Bathinda and Mansa on February 3, Ludhiana on February 4, Moga and Ferozepur on February 5, Amritsar and Tarn Taran on February 6, and Faridkot on February 9. Further camps will be held at Patiala on February 10; Rupnagar and Fatehgarh Sahib on February 11; SBS Nagar and Hoshiarpur on February 12; Barnala and Malerkotla on February 13; Jalandhar and Kapurthala on February 16; Gurdaspur and Pathankot on February 17; and Sangrur on February 18, 2026. Dr.Baljit Kaur said that during these district-level camps, senior citizens will be provided free comprehensive geriatric check-ups, ENT examinations, eye check-ups and cataract surgeries by specialist doctors. Facilities for Senior Citizen Cards, old-age pension applications and other social security services will also be made available at the camps. She further informed that ALIMCO will distribute assistive devices such as wheelchairs, hearing aids and near-vision glasses free of cost, while the District Legal Services Authority will provide legal awareness regarding the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act. Reiterating the government’s commitment, the Minister said that the Mann Government is working relentlessly to ensure that senior citizens receive not only welfare benefits but also respect, care and social security. Dr. Baljit Kaur appealed to the people of Punjab to encourage senior citizens in their families and neighbourhoods to attend these health and awareness camps in large numbers, so that they can avail the benefits and lead a healthier and dignified life.

Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Punjab Government has launched the “Next Generation Road Renovation Program” in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (Mohali). The initiative focuses on rapid upgradation of major roads and key junctions in the state’s largest urban centre to improve connectivity and ease of movement for commuters. The project will be executed on the NHAI pattern under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) to ensure durable roads along with a 10-year maintenance framework. Addressing the media persons here at Punjab Bhawan, Housing and Urban Development Minister S. Hardeep Singh Mundian said, "Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann led government is continuously making focused efforts to strengthen road infrastructure across the state to ensure better connectivity and smooth transportation facilities for the people. While major state highways and rural roads are already being upgraded on priority, the state government has now initiated comprehensive road renovation works in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (Mohali), the largest urban centre of Punjab. The Cabinet Minister informed that the government has undertaken large-scale development initiatives to transform SAS Nagar (Mohali) into a world-class city. In line with the city’s Master Plan, a dedicated “Next Generation Road Renovation Program” has been formulated to further strengthen and modernize the city’s core infrastructure. The Housing and Urban Development Minister informed that under this program, major roads and junctions falling under the jurisdiction of GMADA and the Municipal Corporation will be upgraded and improved on a war footing. The project includes upgradation and strengthening of key arterial roads to ensure smooth traffic movement and to effectively address congestion-related issues. Damaged roads will also be repaired and resurfaced to provide safe and comfortable commuting facilities to residents and visitors. S. Hardeep Singh Mundian further stated that special emphasis will be laid on the beautification of roads and important junctions. The beautification works will include landscaping, installation of modern lighting systems and enhancement of green cover, aimed at improving the overall urban aesthetics and environmental quality of the city. He added that all development works under the project will be executed on the pattern of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) through the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM). Under this model, the contractor awarded the project will be responsible not only for execution of the works but also for maintenance of the roads for a period of 10 years. Explaining the financial mechanism, the Cabinet Minister said that payments will be made as per the 40:60 formula. Forty percent of the project cost will be paid by the government during the construction phase, while the remaining 60 percent will be incurred by the contractor and the government will release the remaining through annuity payments over a period of 10 years after completion of the project to the contractor. This mechanism will ensure greater accountability of the contractor and long-term maintenance of high-quality road infrastructure. S. Hardeep Singh Mundian said that the road renovation work in Mohali city will commence in the month of February and is scheduled to be completed by October this year. He said the project has been planned with a clear timeline to ensure minimal inconvenience to the public while improving urban mobility. He informed that road strengthening and beautification works worth nearly Rs.700 crore will be undertaken and around 80 kilometres of roads across Mohali city will be renovated under this initiative. S. Mundian said that strict directions have been issued to the concerned departments and senior officers to ensure that all works are completed within the stipulated timelines and that quality standards are strictly adhered to, without any compromise. The Housing and Urban Development Minister said that the proposed measures are aimed at bringing significant improvements for the city and its residents. These initiatives are expected to enhance road safety while ensuring smooth and faster movement of traffic. Improved connectivity and upgraded urban infrastructure will provide a boost to economic activities in the area. The minister added these concrete steps will definitely contribute to improving the city’s appearance and quality of life for its citizens. Reiterating the commitment of the Punjab Government, the Cabinet Minister said that the state government is fully dedicated to providing modern infrastructure and a clean, well-planned urban environment to the people and such citizen-centric development initiatives will continue in the future. This operation reaffirms the Department’s unwavering commitment to strict GST compliance and safeguarding government revenue. Informing this Punjab Excise Minister Harpal Singh Cheema informed that 141 vehicles were detained for detailed verification across the state. A significant number were intercepted in Mandi Gobindgarh and Ludhiana—major hubs of the iron and steel trade. Preliminary checks indicate most transported iron and steel goods, suspected of tax evasion via without-invoice movements, misuse of GST provisions and irregular e-way bills. The Cabinet Minister said that this campaign builds on January 2026 enforcement drive targeting the high-risk Iron and Steel sector, based on credible intelligence. Inputs revealed large-scale evasion through invoice-less goods movement, bogus firms, fake billing and e-way bill manipulations. SIPUs were thus directed to intensify checks on iron scrap, finished iron and steel goods and other high-risk commodities for uniform enforcement. Excise Minister Harpal Singh Cheema informed that January’s sustained efforts detained 793 vehicles statewide: 538 carried iron scrap and finished iron/steel goods with the rest transporting other commodities. These actions yielded ₹14.84 crore in penalties across 667 cases. Another 187 cases remain under verification as of January 28 with further recoveries anticipated. The Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that the Department’s proactive, intelligence-led approach bolsters GST compliance, deters evasion and ensures a level playing field for honest taxpayers. It will continue targeted drives to protect revenue, foster voluntary compliance and uphold transparency in the GST regime.

Mansurwal Dona, Punjab:ਪੰਜਾਬ ਭਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਪਰਾਧੀਆੰ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਵੱਡਾ ਐਕਸ਼ਨ, ਫਗਵਾੜਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਥਾਵਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਸਪੈਸ਼ਲ ਨਾਕਾਬੰਦੀ ਫਗਵਾੜਾ : ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਮਨ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਦੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਮਕਸਦ ਨਾਲ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਅੱਜ ਪੂਰੇ ਸੂਬੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਪਰਾਧੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮਾੜੇ ਅਨਸਰਾਂ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਪੱਧਰ ‘ਤੇ ਸਪੈਸ਼ਲ ਨਾਕਾਬੰਦੀ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਚਲਾਈ ਗਈ। ਇਸ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਤਹਿਤ ਸੂਬੇ ਭਰ ਵਿੱਚ 500 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਥਾਵਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਆਉਣ-ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਰ ਵਾਹਨ ਦੀ ਸਖੱਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਂਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਇਸੇ ਕੜੀ ਤਹਿਤ ਫਗਵਾੜਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਬਾਈਪਾਸ ‘ਤੇ ਵੀ ਫਗਵਾੜਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਭਾਰੀ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਫੋਰਸ ਦੀ ਮੌਜੂਦਗੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਨਾਕਾਬੰਦੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਦੋ ਪਹੀਆ ਵਾਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਭਾਰੀ ਟਰੱਕਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਹਰ ਇਕ ਵਾਹਨ ਦੀ ਬਾਰੀਕੀ ਨਾਲ ਤਲਾਸ਼ੀ ਲਈ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਦਸਤਾਵੇਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਕੀਤੀ। ਚੈਕਿੰਗ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਮੌਕੇ ‘ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਡੀਜੀਪੀ ਅਰਪਿਤ ਸ਼ੁਕਲਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਮਾੜੇ ਅਨਸਰਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਨੱਥ ਪਾਓਣਾ, ਗੈਰਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਹਥਿਆਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਨਸ਼ੀਲੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ੱਕੀ ਤੱਥਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੱਕੀ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਉਣ ‘ਤੇ ਤੁਰੰਤ कਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਅਮਲ ‘ਚ ਲਿਆਂਦੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਨਾਕਾਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸੂਬੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਪਰਾਧ ‘ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਕੰਟਰੋਲ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਆਮ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਐਸਪੀ ਫਗਵਾੜਾ ਮਾਧਵੀ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਡੀਐਸਪੀ ਫਗਵਾੜਾ ਭਾਰਤ ਭੂਸ਼ਣ, ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਥਾਣਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਐਸਐੱਚਓ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਡੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਕਰਮਚਾਰੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਰਹੇ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਚਾਰੂ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਅੰਜਾਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ。

Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab:ਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਪਰਹਾਰ ਤਹਿਤ ਫਤਿਹਗੜ੍ਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਡੀ ਚੈਕਿੰਗ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਫਤਿਹਗੜ੍ਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਪਰਹਾਰ ਦੇ ਤਹਿਤ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪੂਰੇ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਨੂੰ ਸੀਲ ਕਰਕੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਪੱਧਰ ਦੀ ਚੈਕਿੰਗ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਚਲਾਈ ਗਈ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕਰੀਬ 850 ਵਾਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲਗਭਗ 400 ਵਾਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਲਾਨ ਕੱਟੇ ਗਏ। ਐਸਐਸਪੀ ਸ਼ੁਭਮ ਅਗਰਵਾਲ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਡੀਜੀਪੀ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਚਲਾਈ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕਾਨੂੰਨ-ਵਿਵਸਥਾ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖਣ ਅਤੇ ਅਪਰਾਧ ‘ਤੇ ਨਕੇਲ ਪਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਚੈਕਿੰਗ ਮੁਹਿੰਮਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਵੀ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਜਾਰੀ ਰਹਿਣਗੀਆਂ。

राज्य स्तरीय नलवाड़ और सुकेत मेले एक साथ, ऑडिशन नहीं, डिवोशनल नाइट के साथ

Sundar Nagar, Himachal Pradesh:राज्यस्तरीय नलवाड़ मेला-2026 के आयोजन को लेकर मेला कमेटी का बड़ा फैसला ऑडिशन नहीं, सीधे मंच पर अब दिखेगा हिमाचली रंग नलवाड़ और सुकेत देवता मेले के एक साथ आयोजन के चलते निर्णय पहली बार देवी-देवताओं के सम्मान में संध्याकालीन सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रमों के तहत ‘डिवोशनल नाइट’ आयोजित करने का निर्णय लिया है। उन्होंने कहा कि दोनों मेलों के सफल और सुव्यवस्थित आयोजन को लेकर विकास खंड अधिकारी कार्यालय के सभागार में आम सभा के सदस्यों की विशेष बैठक आयोजित की गई, जिसकी अध्यक्षता उन्होंने स्वयं की। बैठक में तहसीलदार अंकित शर्मा, डीएसपी भारत भूषण, नायब तहसीलदार डैहर सहित विभिन्न विभागों और सामाजिक संस्थाओं के प्रतिनिधियों ने भाग लिया। इस दौरान दोनों मेलों के सुचारु संचालन के लिए विस्तृत रोड मैप तैयार किया गया और सदस्यों के सुझावों पर गहन चर्चा हुई। एसडीएम अमर नेगी ने बताया कि राज्यस्तरीय नलवाड़ मेला 22 से 28 मार्च जबकि राज्यस्तरीय सुकेत देवता मेला 23 से 27 मार्च तक आयोजित किया जाएगा। दोनों मेलों के एक साथ होने के कारण व्यवस्थाओं को लेकर विशेष सतर्कता बरती जा रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि इस वर्ष भी मेलों की थीम नशे के खिलाफ जागरूकता ही रहेगी। नलवाड़ मेले के दौरान खेलकूद प्रतियोगिताओं का आयोजन किया जाएगा, जिसके लिए डीएसपी भारत भूषण को नोडल अधिकारी नियुक्त किया गया है, जबकि कुश्ती प्रतियोगिता के आयोजन की जिम्मेदारी तहसीलदार अंकित शर्मा को सौंपी गई है। सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रमों को लेकर एसडीएम ने स्पष्ट किया कि समय की कमी के चलते इस बार कलाकारों के ऑडिशन नहीं लिए जाएंगे, लेकिन कार्यक्रमों में हिमाचल प्रदेश के स्थानीय कलाकारों को प्राथमिकता दी जाएगी।

Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh:अनुराग सिंह ठाकुर ने हमीरपुर के SAI नेशनल सेंटर ऑफ एक्सीलेंस में आधुनिक स्पोर्ट्स जिम का उद्घाटन किया हमीरपुर में युवा सशक्तिकरण: अनुराग सिंह ठाकुर ने SAI नेशनल सेंटर ऑफ एक्सीलेंस में स्पोर्ट्स जिम को किया राष्ट्र-स्तरीय उद्घाटन हमीरपुर, पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री एवं हमीरपुर संसदीय क्षेत्र से सांसद अनुराग सिंह ठाकुर ने स्पोर्ट्स अथॉरिटी ऑफ इंडिया (SAI) के नेशनल सेंटर ऑफ एक्सीलेंस, हमीरपुर में 30 लाख की लागत से बने एक अत्याधुनिक स्पोर्ट्स जिम का शुभारंभ किया। कार्यक्रम में स्थानीय खिलाड़ियों, कोचों तथा खेल प्रेमियों ने हिस्सा लिया । अनुराग सिंह ठाकुर ने उद्घाटन के अवसर पर युवा खिलाड़ियों से अपेक्षा जताई कि वे नियमित प्रशिक्षण, अनुशासन और कड़ी मेहनत के साथ न केवल राष्ट्रीय बल्कि अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर भी हिमाचल और भारत का नाम उज्जवल करेंगे। उन्होंने घोषणा करते हुए कहा कि एनसीओई सेंटर तक जाने वाली एक्सेस रोड पक्की की जाएगी। साथ ही क्रिकेट खिलाड़ियों के लिए टर्फ का निर्माण भूमि अधिग्रहण के बाद किया जाएगा और एनसीओई सेंटर में देर रात तक बेहतर दृश्यता के लिए अतिरिक्त मास्ट लाइट लगाई जाएगी, पहले से ही एक लाइट लगाई चुकी है । यूजीसी के मुद्दे पर सांसद अनुराग ठाकुर ने कहा कि उन्होंने इस मुद्दे पर पार्टी के वरिष्ठ नेताओं के अलावा केंद्रीय शिक्षा मंत्री से भी इस पर बात की थी और उन्हें आश्वस्त किया गया था कि इस पर गंभीरता के साथ विचार किया जाएगा और किसी के साथ अन्याय नही होगा । उन्होंने सुप्रीम कोर्ट के फैसले का स्वागत करते हुए कहा कि कोर्ट ने केंद्र सरकार को अपना पक्ष रखने का समय दिया है और इस को स्टे करते हुए पूर्व में चल रहे यूजीसी कानून को ही लागू रखने की बात कही है । पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री जयराम रमेश के द्वारा प्रधानमंत्री पर की गई टिप्पणी पर उन्होंने पलटवार करते हुए कहा कि लगातार पार्टी को मिल रही हर के चलते कांग्रेस के नेता भी अपने बयान बाजी की मर्यादा को भूल चुके हैं । उन्होंने कहा कि कांग्रेस नेताओं का काम हो चुका है संवैधानिक पदों और संवैधानिक व्यवस्था पर गलत टिप्पणी करना । प्रदेश में कांग्रेस पार्टी के द्वारा चलाए जा रहे मनरेगा बचाव संघर्ष संग्राम पर उन्होंने कहा कि इस मुद्दे पर वह कई बार स्पष्ट कर चुके हैं कि मनरेगा के मुकाबले जी राम जी कानून से जहां लोगों को अधिक दिहाड़ी मिलेगी तो वही काम के दिन भी 125 कर दिए गए हैं । उन्होंने कहा कि कांग्रेस को केवल राम के नाम से दिक्कत है इसलिए इस तरह से लोगों को भ्रमित करने का काम किया जा रहा है
