Khansahib, Budgam | June 19, 2025
In a tragic incident reported from the Hariwani area of Khansahib in district Budgam, a 7-year-old boy, Basit Afroz Khan, lost his life after drowning in a water trench on Wednesday. His younger sister, Zainab Afroz Khan, aged 5, also fell into the trench and is reported to be in critical condition.
According to local sources, the siblings were playing near the water trench when the mishap occurred

Shamas Fakeer:One of the renowned Sufi poet who revolutionized the field of Sufism by his poems was born in Habbakadal Srinagar in 1843 and went to Punjab(India) for employment and after returning from Punjab He came in the filed of Sufism by getting in connection with Nyam Saub and directed himself towards Budgam where he stayed at Qazibagh for almost 6 months and then shifted to Kalshipora Khansahib where he died in 1901
After his death his shrine was constructed at same place, where he died
