US President Donald Trump indicated that he may introduce new tariffs on agricultural imports, particularly Indian rice and fertiliser from Canada, as trade discussions with both countries continue without major progress. He unveiled USD 12 billion in fresh support for American farmers at a White House meeting and said imports were challenging domestic producers and he would take care of alleged dumping of Indian rice into the US. Farmers say rice prices are falling as imports from India, Vietnam and Thailand undercut their crops. He suggested tariffs on fertiliser from Canada to encourage local production. A US delegation is expected to visit India this week for talks, though no major breakthrough is anticipated. Earlier this year, Trump imposed 50% tariffs on Indian goods. Negotiations with Canada and India aim to stabilise trade ties.

We've revoked 85,000 visas of all categories, including more than 8,000 students, which is more than double the numbers the year before, said a State Department official in response to a question. Some of the top reasons why we revoked the visas were DUIs, assaults, and theft, which together account for almost half of the revocations in the past year. These are people who pose a direct threat to our communities' safety, and we do not want to have them in our country, said the official who spoke on condition of anonymity. The official said the administration's visa-vetting posture remains stringent, particularly for applicants from high-risk environments. On Afghanistan, the official said: I think this administration has always had concerns with the security in Afghanistan [following the withdrawal] and making sure that we can appropriately vet and validate that visa applicants won’t be a threat. Reiterating that security checks will not be rushed, the official added: We will take as much time as it takes, and we will not issue a visa until we are sure the applicant does not pose a threat to Americans' safety and security. The official was also asked whether participating in fact-checking or content-moderation efforts — including work for social-media or civil-society organizations — could be grounds for a visa denial under the Trump administration's recently established policies. "Freedom of speech is a fundamental American value, and the Trump Administration is defending Americans from foreigners who wish to censor them," the official said. "That's why Secretary Rubio instituted in May a visa restriction targeting foreign nationals who censor Americans." But the official added that such cases are not assessed on a single criterion. "When determining whether an applicant qualifies for a visa, consular officers look not just at one single factor, but at the totality of an individual's circumstances, then they make a case-by-case determination regarding eligibility for a US visa," said the official. The heightened scrutiny comes at a time when the US continues to refine its immigration and vetting procedures following the 2021 military withdrawal from Afghanistan, which left thousands seeking resettlement or visas through special US programs. American officials have repeatedly stressed that all Afghan applicants must clear multilayered security checks — a process that has led to long delays but remains central to US national security policy. The United States has historically adjusted visa and immigration policies in response to shifts in global security conditions, including after major geopolitical events or changes in administration. Visa revocations for criminal conduct are not uncommon, but large-scale actions — such as the 85,000 figure cited this year — underscore Washington's ongoing emphasis on public safety and homeland-security risk assessments across all visa categories.

Noida, Uttar Pradesh:आईफॉरेस्ट की रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, किसान अधिकतर पराली दोपहर 3 बजे के बाद जलाते हैं, जबकि निगरानी के लिए इस्तेमाल होने वाले सैटेलाइट सिर्फ 10.30 बजे सुबह से 1.30 बजे दोपहर तक ही खेतों को स्कैन करते हैं। पंजाब और हरियाणा में पराली जलाने के 90% से ज्यादा मामले अब सरकारी निगरानी सिस्टम की नजर से बच रहे हैं। इंटरनेशनल फोरम फॉर एनवायरनमेंट, सस्टेनेबिलिटी एंड टेक्नोलॉजी (आईफॉरेस्ट) की सोमवार को जारी रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, किसान अधिकतर पराली दोपहर 3 बजे के बाद जलाते हैं, जबकि निगरानी के लिए इस्तेमाल होने वाले सैटेलाइट सिर्फ 10.30 बजे सुबह से 1.30 बजे दोपहर तक ही खेतों को स्कैन करते हैं। रिपोर्ट में कहा गया कि भारतीय कृषि अनुसंधान संस्थान के सीआरईएमएस की ओर से संचालित मौजूदा निगरानी प्रणाली इस नए पैटर्न के अनुरूप नहीं है। इससे दिल्ली की हवा में पराली के योगदान का आकलन काफी कम बताता है। आईफॉरेस्ट ने कहा कि स्थिति सुधारने के लिए मॉनिटरिंग सिस्टम में बड़े बदलाव की जरूरत है। रिपोर्ट यह भी बताती है कि जमीन पर सुधार हो रहा है। सेंटीनेल-2 सैटेलाइट के आंकड़ों के अनुसार, पंजाब में खरीफ सीजन में पराली जलाने की की जमीन 2022 के 31,447 वर्ग किमी से घटकर 2025 में करीब 20,000 वर्ग किमी रह गई। यानी 37% की कमी। हरियाणा में भी 2019 के मुकाबले 25% की कमी दर्ज की गई है। The Stubble Burning Status Report 2025 shows that while official government data suggests a dramatic 90% decline in farm fires in Punjab and Haryana, this reduction is largely a result of limitations in the current monitoring system run by the Consortium for Research on Agroecosystem Monitoring and Modeling from Space (CREAMS) of the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI). The report presents India’s first-ever multi-satellite, multi-sensor assessment, combining MODIS (Terra and Aqua satellites), VIIRS (Suomi-NPP satellite), Sentinel-2 Multispectral Instrument (MSI) burnt-area mapping, and 15-minute geostationary observations from the Spinning Enhanced Visible and Infrared Imager (SEVIRI) on Meteosat 8 and 9. The report demonstrates that the CREAMS monitoring protocol—based primarily on polar-orbiting satellites (MODIS/VIIRS) that pass over India between 10:30 AM and 1:30 PM—misses the majority of large farm fires, which now occur later in the afternoon and evening.

Noida, Uttar Pradesh:5,114 farm fires reported in Punjab since Sep 15: MoS Kirti Vardhan Singh Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Kirti Vardhan Singh said on Monday that 5,114 cumulative paddy residue burning incidents have been reported in Punjab from September 15 to November 30, 2025. “Punjab and Haryana have collectively recorded about 90 per cent reduction in fire incidents during paddy harvesting season in the year 2025 in comparison to the same period in the year 2022 as per the information made available by CAQM,” said the MoS in response to a question asked in Lok Sabha by Harsimrat Kaur Badal. Speaking about the air pollution situation in Delhi, Kirti Vardhan Singh said, “With coordinated efforts, the number of good days (AQI<200) in Delhi has increased to 200 days in 2025 from 110 days in 2016.” He said that while there is an overall improvement in the AQI this year, very poor days (AQI: 301-400) and severe (AQI more than 401) days have reduced from 71 days in 2024 to 50 days in 2025. “Delhi has observed the lowest average AQI in the past 8 years - from 2018 to 2025 (barring 2020 – Covid lockdown),” said the MoS. He also shared details of instructions issued by the Commission for Air Quality Management in the National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas (CAQM) and steps taken by the government to curb stubble burning. Kirti Vardhan Singh said, “To support the efforts of the Governments of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and the NCT of Delhi to address air pollution caused due to paddy stubble burning and to subsidise machinery required for management of crop residue, a Central Sector Scheme on Crop Residue Management (CRM) has been implemented since 2018-19.” The MoS said, “CAQM, on June 3, 2025, directed the State Governments of Punjab and Haryana to mandate use of paddy straw-based bio-mass pellets/briquettes in all brick kilns located in the districts beyond NCR, as one of the means towards elimination of the practice of open paddy stubble burning.” The CAQM has also issued directions to all the coal-based Thermal Power Plants located within a 300 km radius of Delhi to co-fire biomass-based pellets, torrefied pellets/ briquettes (up to 5-10 per cent) with coal to promote the use of biomass, he said. The MoS said that 31 Flying Squads from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) have been deployed from October 1 to November 30 in identified hotspot districts in Punjab and Haryana to closely monitor the actions and coordinate with the authorities/officers at the district level, officers of the Pollution Control Boards/CAQM cell. These teams provide daily updates, photographic evidence, and compliance status, he said.

But today, we are breaking — silently, invisibly, and alone. Life as an IndiGo Captain Today What was once a respected profession now feels like living under fear and controlled silence. At IndiGo, speaking up about safety, fatigue, or unfair treatment often feels like risking your career. Many of us believe that raising genuine concerns is met with intimidation rather than support. We flew through Covid — risking our lives and families — while the world stayed at home. We flew with fear, with uncertainty, with tears behind closed doors. We did not abandon the airline. But after the crisis, it feels like the airline abandoned us. Painful Reality Our salaries were cut by nearly half. Allowances vanished. Inflation skyrocketed. EMIs and school fees kept rising. But our pay never returned to what it was — let alone what it should be. IndiGo bounced back to record-breaking profits, new aircraft orders, expansion, celebrations at the top… Yet the pilots and cabin crew who carried the airline through its worst days are left struggling to survive. Today, many captains are: Cutting down essential family expenses Living with debt and financial stress Missing time with children Flying while mentally and physically exhausted We are responsible for hundreds of lives every day, yet treated like numbers and replaceable parts. How long can human endurance replace proper planning? Leadership That Pilots Fear, Not Respect The deepest wound is the culture inside. Pilots feel humiliated, disrespected, and scared to speak. Many pilots describe senior managers such as: Ashim Mitra — seen as clinging to power while pilots suffer Akshay Mohan — perceived as pushing to squeeze pilots even more Rahul Patil — remembered for fear, shouting, and intimidation Tapas Dey — infamous for saying “beggars can’t be choosers” Instead of protecting pilots, many believe they protect their positions and power. We ask: Is this leadership, or is this exploitation? The Recent Meltdown — A Result of Broken Systems In November 2025, senior leadership reportedly told pilots that the airline was overstaffed and needed further cuts. Days later, IndiGo collapsed into massive cancellations — over a thousand flights disrupted, passengers stranded across the country. How can a company with “excess pilots” suddenly fall apart due to pilot shortages and planning failures? The public suffered. Pilots were blamed. Leadership stayed silent. What We Are Asking For We are not asking for luxury. We are not asking for power. We are asking for basic dignity and fairness. Our demands: 1. Restore salaries and allowances to realistic, inflation-adjusted levels 2. Respect human limits — no more roster torture disguised as efficiency 3. Create an independent pilot body elected by pilots, not appointed by management 4. Protect whistle-blowers and safety reporting 5. Replace individuals who built careers by breaking the workforce 6. Government intervention to enforce minimum standards for fatigue, manpower, and pay Our Final Words We are exhausted. We are disheartened. We are losing health, peace, and family life. But the greatest fear is this: We are being pushed to fly airplanes while mentally broken and physically fatigued — and that is a safety risk for the entire nation. IndiGo was built not just by corporate offices, but by pilots, engineers, cabin crew, and ground staff. Without us, airplanes do not move. Safety does not exist. Passengers do not fly. We are not enemies. We are not machines. We are human beings. All we want is to fly with dignity again. We request the Government of India, DGCA, and the citizens of India to stand with us. At a time when Punjab and Bengal still wear the scars of Partition, the nation must rise above divisive politics and rediscover unity of purpose. Minorities, who gave heroes like Gen. Harbaksh Singh and Abdul Hamid, cannot be treated as second-class citizens. Their sacrifices are the living spirit of Vande Mataram. Zirakpur, Punjab:ਜ਼ੀਰਕਪੁਰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੋ ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ ਸੜਕ ਹਾਦਸਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਿੰਨ ਜਣਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ। ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਿਓ ਧੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ。 ਪਹਿਲਾ ਹਾਦਸਾ ਜ਼ੀਰਕਪੁਰ-ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਰੋਡ ਤੇ ਸਥਿਤ ਛੱਤ ਲਾਈਟ ਪਵਾਇੰਟ ਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਇਕ ਦਰਦਨਾਕ ਸੜਕ ਹਾਦਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ 40 ਸਾਲਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਐਮ.ਬੀ.ਏ. ਦੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਧੀ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ। ਹਾਦਸੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਟਰੱਕ ਚਾਲਕ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੋਂ ਫਰਾਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨੇ ਟਰੱਕ ਡਰਾਈਵਰ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਕੇਸ ਦਰਜ ਕਰਕੇ ਅਗਲੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰditi ਹੈ। ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕ ਪਿਤਾ-ਧੀ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਡੇਰਾਬੱਸੀ ਦੇ ਵਸੰਤ ਵਿਹਾਰ ਵਾਸੀ ਰਮੇਸ਼ ਚੰਦ ਅਤੇ ਧੀ 24 ਸਾਲਾ ਦੀ ਸੁਮਿਤਾ ਵਜੋਂ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ। ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨੇ ਦੋਵਾਂ ਲਾਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਬਜ਼ੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅਗਲੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ。 ਮੋਟਰਸਾਈਕਲ ਸਵਾਰ ਪਿਓ ਅਤੇ ਧੀ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਪਿੰਡ ਛੱਤ ਲਾਈਟ ਪੁਆਇੰਟ 'ਤੇ पਹੁੰਚੇ ਤੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਛੱਤ ਵੱਲ ਮੁੜ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ, ਤਦ ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਤੇਜ ਰਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਟਰੱਕ ਚਾਲਕ ਨੇ ਲਾਪਰਵਾਹੀ ਨਾਲ ਮੋਟਰਸਾਈਕਲ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ੋਰਦਾਰ ਟੱਕਰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਟੱਕਰ ਨਾਲ ਰਮੇਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਮিতਾ ਸੜਕ 'ਤੇ ਡਿੱਗ ਪਏ। ਹਾਦਸੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਟਰੱਕ ਚਾਲਕ ਟਰੱਕ ਸਮੇਤ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੋਂ ਫਰਾਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਸੂਚਨਾ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹੀ ਸੜਕ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਮੌਕੇ 'ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚੀ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਜ਼ਖਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਡੇਰਾਬੱਸੀ ਲੈ ਜਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਡਾਕਟਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕ ਐਲਾਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨੇ ਅਣਪਛਾਤੇ ਟਰੱਕ ਚਾਲਕ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਦਰਜ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਤਲਾਸ਼ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਪੁਲੀਸ ਹਾਦਸੇ ਵਾਲੀ ਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਲੱਗੇ ਸੀ.ਸੀ.ਟੀ.ਵੀ. ਕੇਮਰੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਖੰਗਾਲ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਟਰੱਕ ਚਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਛੇਤੀ ਫੜਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ。 ਦੂਜਾ ਹਾਦਸਾ ਇਥੋਂ ਦੇ ਢਕੋਲੀ ਖ਼ੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਪਰਿਆ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਇੱਕ ਮੋਟਰਸਾਈਕਲ ਸਵਾਰ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਦੀ ਬਿਜਲੀ ਦੇ ਖੰਭੇ ਨਾਲ ਟੱਕਰ ਹੋਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਸਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ। ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੋਟਰਸਾਈਕਲ ਤੇ ਸਵਾਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਢਕੋਲੀ ਤੋਂ ਪੀਰ ਮੁਛਲਾ ਵੱਲ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਦੋਰਾਨ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਡੀਪੀਐਸ ਸਕੂਲ ਨੇੜੇ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ ਤਾਹੀ ਉਸਦਾ ਮੋਟਰਸਾਈਕਲ ਇਕ ਦਮ ਅਸੰਤੁਲਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਟੱਕਰ ਸੜਕ ਕੰਢੇ ਲੱਗੇ ਬਿਜਲੀ ਦੇ ਖੰਭੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੋ ਗਈ। ਹਾਦਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮੀ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਲੈ ਜਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਜਿਥੇ ਡਾਕਟਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕ ਕਰਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ 25 ਸਾਲਾ ਰਾਮਸ਼ਰਨ ਵਾਸੀ ਪਿੰਡ ਸਨੋਲੀ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ。

जीरकपूर में भारी ट्रैफिक जाम से लोग घंटों फंसे, अस्पतालों पर असर

Zirakpur, Punjab:जीरकपूर शहर में लगने वाले भारी भरकम और लंबे-लंबे ट्रैफिक जाम की समस्या हर दिन बढ़ती जा रही है जिसकी वजह से लोगों को घंटों तक ट्रैफिक जाम में फंसना पड़ता है। पिछले तकरीबन एक दशक से लोग ट्रैफिक जाम की समस्या का सामना कर रहे हैं जो अब समस्या ने विकराल रूप धारण कर लिया है । बता दें कि दिल्ली , हरियाणा और पंजाब की तरफ से चंडीगढ़ और हिमाचल प्रदेश को जाने वाला ट्रैफिक जीरकपुर शहर से होते हुए गुजरता है और लोकल ट्रैफिक में मिल जाने के कारण समस्या और भी गंभीर बन जाती है । वहीं लोगों का कहना है कि पिछले कई सालों से समस्या बढ़ती चली जा रही है जबकि प्रशासन द्वारा इस समस्या का हल नहीं निकाला जा रहा । लोगों ने मांग की है कि हर समय लगने वाले ट्रैफिक जाम की समस्या दिन प्रतिदिन विकराल रूप लेती जा रही है जो प्रशासन को जल्द ही वैकल्पिक हल निकालना चाहिए । भारी ट्रैफिक जाम में कई बार मरीज को ले जाती एम्बुलेंस फंसी नजर आती हैं जिस कारण मरीज की जान को भी खतरा बना रहता है।

फाजिल्का में बीएलओ ड्यूटी कटाने की मांग पर डीसी दफ्तर के बाहर प्रदर्शन

Fazilka, Punjab:फाजिल्का में बीएलओ अध्यापकों द्वारा चुनावों में लगी अपनी ड्यूटी काटने की मांग को लेकर डीसी दफ्तर में प्रदर्शन किया गया । इसी दौरान डीसी दफ्तर के मुख्य गेट पर मौजूद एसएसपी की गाड़ी का घेराव कर लिया गया । हालांकि मौके पर पुलिस फोर्स ने उन्हें उठा हटाने का प्रयास किया है । तभी एसएसपी गुरमीत सिंह प्रदर्शनकारियों के बीच पहुंचे और उक्त लोगों को रास्ता देने की अपील की । एसएसपी ने कहा कि मेरी गाड़ी कैसे रोक सकते हो । साइड हो जाओ मुझे अपना काम करने दो । बीएलओ यूनियन जिला फाजिल्का के अध्यक्ष भारत भूषण ने बताया कि आज फाजिल्का डीसी कार्यालय के समक्ष धरना प्रदर्शन किया गया है । उन्होंने कहा कि उनकी एक ही मांग है कि उनके जो बीएलओ साथी पूरा वर्ष इलेक्शन विभाग में ड्यूटी कर रहे हैं । पहली बार उनकी ड्यूटी चुनाव पार्टी के साथ जोड़ दिया गया । पहले ही उनकी ड्यूटी इलेक्शन विभाग में जहां वोट बनानी, काटनी या सुधार करना होता है । इसके बावजूद उनकी ड्यूटी लगा दी गई । जिसे काटने की मांग को लेकर उनके द्वारा प्रदर्शन किया जा रहा है । इसी को लेकर रोष व्यक्त करने के लिए आज वह डीसी दफ्तर पहुंचे है । उन्होंने चेतावनी दी कि जबतक बीएलओ साथियों की ड्यूटी नहीं काटी जाएगी तब तक धरना प्रदर्शन जारी रहेगा । और बीएलओ चुनाव के दिन भी ड्यूटी पर नहीं जाएंगे । उधर जिला प्रशासन के मुताबिक सारे स्टाफ और हर विभाग के कर्मचारी और अधिकारी चुनाव में काम कर रहे है । जिसके तहत ही जिला इलेक्शन अधिकारी द्वारा इन बीएलओ की ड्यूटी भी लगाई गई है । उन्होंने कहा कि इस दौरान अगर किसी विशेष व्यक्ति को कोई दिक्कत आ रही है तो उस समस्या को देख जाएगा । उन्होंने कहा कि ड्यूटी काटना मुमकिन नहीं है । अगर कोई नियम तोड़ा गया तो कार्यवाही की जाएगी ।
