This is to submit that the instant case was registered on the basis of written letter of complaint of Mr Dutta, age- 67 Years, PS- Manicktala, Kolkata- 700067, treating the same as FIR of the case. The brief fact of the case is that sometimes on and before 05/10/2025, the accused person(s) entered into a criminal conspiracy and in pursuant to that dishonestly and fraudulently called the complainant , posed as a Blue Dart Courier representative. He falsely alleged that a parcel in the complainant’s name contained illegal stuff and the matter was under CBI and ED investigation. Soon after, another caller identifying himself as Amit Kumar (CBI Officer) made a video call, showing forged IDs and threatening arrest. Under fear, the complainant and his wife were made to keep their phones and laptops on video for “CBI surveillance.” Later, two more persons impersonated themselves as an IPS officer of Cyber Crime Head and FATF (Financial Action Task Force) officer joined the calls. They sent forged documents bearing logos of CBI, RBI, ED, and the Supreme Court, and demanded that the complainant transfer money for fund verification. Being afraid by such accusation of offence, the complainant transferred a total amount of Rs. 3.01 Crore to the aforesaid bank accounts to get relief from such cases and thus he has been extorted and defrauded. Thus the accused persons have committed offence punishable u/s 66C/66D Information Technology Act, 2000 r.w. sec. 61(2)/204/308(2)/319(2)/318(4)/336(2)/336(3)/338/340(2) BNS Act, 2023.
